Del Bosque ducked a confrontation with the Scotsman, who claimed the quarter-finals had been rigged against the Old Trafford side and that Real defender Roberto Carlos would not receive a lengthy suspension for barging into a referee because of unfair deference shown to the Madrid side.
Del Bosque said: ``I don`t believe those statements, but if they were true they would be inappropriate from a professional and a gentleman like Alex Ferguson.''
