FERGIE IS ALWAYS RIGHT

Former Red Lou Macari thinks the Becks transfer was right.

"The powers that be at Old Trafford believe this is the time to cash in," he said.

"I am a great believer in Sir Alex's ability. He knows when players should move on from Old Trafford.

"It is very rare former players leave Old Trafford and come back to haunt them and I don't believe Beckham will either.

"I think one of the main reasons they have been wanting him out of the door was because that money they will get for him will be used to bring in two or three players."

"If you rub Sir Alex up the wrong way there is only going to be one winner and one loser.

"I think the turning point (for Beckham) was towards the end of the season when he was on the substitutes' bench. It was a clear indication from the manager that his days were numbered.

"I don't think he owes anyone anything. I don't think Man United owe him anything. He has been employed there for seven or eight years and has collected £18million over that time so I don't think he has done badly."
