FERGIE LOOKING FORWARD TO STUTTGART

Ferguson is glad that Scholes will be available to play:

"Paul is a great one to bring in. He gives us that extra
player who is a natural goalscorer and his creativity is
important. He's one of the few players who can create and
give you a goal from midfield so we're happy with that."

Sir Alex does expect a tough challenge from the Germans:

"The first thing about them is they don't lose goals. They
play with a very tight four-man diamond in the middle of the
pitch. I hope I can play the side I want to play and we will
have to make sure we don't get caught in midfield because
with the diamond they can hit you on the break.

"Stuttgart set out to make sure they don't lose goals so it
could be a tight game, one of those where you run out of
patience and don't get frustrated. We will have to keep
reminding ourselves that we are away from home and if we
just get the result that's the name of the game.

"The way they play they could easily pull us into the trap
of going at them all the time and then they would catch you.
We won't let that happen because we have that experience."

Stuttgart won 3-0 at Bayern Munich this weekend and coach
Felix Magath is confident ahead of Wednesday’s game:

"Certainly we can win on Wednesday," he told the PA
International. "We've got to get something out of the game."

When told of Van Nistelrooy’s hat-trick against Leicester,
Magath said: "It's better if he scores three on Saturday
than three on Wednesday, so in that respect, he's done
well."
