A set back
"It's a blow. It's a disappointment but we won’t know until later on how bad it is. At the moment it's a disappointing result. It was a game that we should have won with the opportunities we had and the amount of possession we had. But that got them back into it. In fairness City deserved a point because they kept on going at us and we spurned all our opportunities in terms of real clear-cut chances. Maybe we should have had a penalty in the first half. For me it looked like a penalty and these are decisive moments. That could have changed the game."

Forced back
"I think the way they play, with their two wing backs, they are always going to give you width. They played one off the front who is always trying to free himself so in a way they are always going to get into the middle of your half. They hadn’t been any threat in the first half, we should have punished them on the counter attack many times but you have to give them credit for having a go at us and they did that in the second half."

Disappointment of the goal
"I will have to see it again but we didn’t react to the ball being played squared across the box. I think we were maybe slow out to it but we will have a look at it again. It was a bright ball actually because with four minutes you would expect them to put the ball into the box, instead they chose to square it. The disappointing thing was them getting the free kick because he was only two yards away from Silvestre and the ball was blasted against him and he gave a free kick there. We saw that once or twice in the first half, balls hitting hands and the play going on."

Penalty decisions
"We had a claim for a handball in the second half but I couldn’t tell that one. I saw the David Beckham one at half time and it was a clear penalty kick."

The fans
"It was a disappointment. I wouldn’t say it was like a defeat, though. A point is a point - it may win us the league, who knows? There are a lot of important games to come. We have been in great form but I think we have let our level drop this afternoon. Not the actually performance but the carelessness of our performance giving the ball away repeatedly in the second half and that’s cost us."

Becoming a Newcastle fan this afternoon
"Well we hope they win. You can’t discount Newcastle they are flying."

Injuries
"Paul Scholes has a groin injury that we will assess, Mikael Silvestre has a problem with his Achilles and we are having a look at that. Ryan Giggs has a calf injury, too. We will have a look at those but obviously without making any decisions on that we will see the light tomorrow."
