The Telegraph reports:

'Manchester United's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, seeking a long-term replacement for the ageing and increasingly injury-prone Gary Neville, would surprise no one north of the border if he turned his attention to his fellow Glaswegian. Ferguson was certainly impressed after watching Hutton from the stands at the weekend and did not disguise his admiration for the right-back.

'"Hutton was exceptional," he said. "He has come from nowhere and looks as though he will become a superstar once he gets that little extra bit of experience."'
