Fergie Satisfied

Without the likes of Christiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Sholes and Carlos Tevez missing from their squad, United still managed to cruise into the fourth round and a meeting with Spurs at Old Trafford with a comfortable 3-0 victory at St Mary's on Sunday afternoon.

"I think it was okay," Fergie told Setanta Sports after the match.

"They're a very young team and there's a lot of inexperience in the team so you'd expect us to win.

"Maybe we could've done it more comfortably, but 3-0 is a satisfactory score against a very young team.

"You don't want to humiliate them because they've got a tough programme ahead to survive in The Championship, and I hope they do because it's good to see young players getting their chance in football."
