FERGIE WILL SORT IT

Martin O'Neill thinks that Sir Alex Ferguson is the best person to sort out Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo's little problem. Speaking on 5-live he said:

'Do I think the two of them can work together? Absolutely.

'If all the things we have read about the incident are even remotely close to the truth, then a little apology from one player to the other to begin with....

'My own view is that if both players are worthwhile keeping in your team, that they are going to make a difference throughout the season to your side, then why not?

'If one of the players wasn't all that fantastic, then I think your job is made slightly easier. You can tell him to go. But I actually think that both can work together.

'What do you do on the first day of training? I think you would have to lighten the mood, to be perfectly honest.

'There will be a few weeks now after the World Cup is over before Manchester United meet up, and I think there might be a time of reflection for both of them, and I honestly think that they should put it to the side.

'But listen, why are you asking me this question? One of the greatest managers of all time should sort that problem out, and I don't think he's had too much difficulty in the past.'
