FERGIE'S COVER BLOWN

Mention of the 'Scholes The Scout' story tends to bring Sir Alex out in
hives and the boss was quick to take the piss out of the hack who broke the
story, Neil Custis of The Sun. "According to some of the papers Scholesy's
been recommending lots of players to us," said Ferguson at a Friday press
gig. "What he's really been doing is watching a lot of the lads who we've
got out on loan and he's enjoying it."

Oh dear. Scholes *and his notebook* were photographed at Bolton v West Ham,
then at Blackburn v 'Boro. Number of United players on loan in those games:
ZERO.

Then today we read in Scholesy's MEN interview:

Scholes has been on a few scouting missions for Sir Alex: 'The manager thought I was getting bored so he asked me to do a couple of games....it was something I enjoyed but I don't want to be a scout though....A manager? You never know."

Bit off-message there, Paul! Learn from Gary: always repeat what the manager says, no matter how bollocks.
