FERGIE'S NEW JOB

From The People:

United officials told Bellion to be in the hotel (Worsley Marriott) reception for 8.45am to wait for someone from the club to pick him up.

Bellion, who at best can hope for a place on the United bench in his first season, expected one of the coaching staff but was stunned when Fergie himself emerged from a gleaming new Merc that had rolled up to chauffeur him to Carrington.

"At most clubs, he probably wouldn't have met the manager until pre-season training, but it's different at a club like United."

Meanwhile it seems that Bellion is not the finished atricle according to his fromer manager, Howard Wilkinson:

"David has frightening pace but he has to learn when and when not to use it, to judge when to pass, when to run with the ball and when not to.

"Like lots of young players he's got loads of this and not much of that. David's also got a young boy's romantic dreams and naivety. He's got great potential but you can't just leave him growing wild in the garden and hope he'll come out lovely."
