This was of course in reference to the news item on www.redisssue.co.uk yesterday (http://www.redissue.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=60526) where we quoted the Telegraph's Paul Hayward's view that it was time for Ferguson to get rid of Roy Keane. You would expect a serious paper to check its sources first but such is the desire to stoke the Roy Keane fire that even Roy's local paper is shamelessly happy to stick anything on its backpages without checking its sources first.

The same journal has promised to carry an apology in today's edition and if anyone is passing along Academy Street in Cork today please let us know if you see anyone being thrown through a window.

Meanwhile can the few who have been busy sending us abusive emails for our lack of loyalty to Keano please re-direct ther bile towards the Telegraph and inefficient journos on the far side of the Irish Sea rather than us here in Manchester.
