Chief exec David Gill told Sky Sports News:

"Sir Alex Ferguson is very committed and motivated. He is very fit and we hope he will continue to manage the club for many years to come. We haven't looked at a successor. Our focus now is to make sure we give him the resources to ensure Manchester United continues to be as successful as it has been over the past 18 years."
