‘Wayne Rooney was last night at the centre of a swearing storm after inspiring Manchester United to victory at St James' Park. The 19-year-old marred his stunning display when TV microphones picked him up shouting "you fucking beauty" as he celebrated his 66th-minute goal.
‘Sky TV was forced to apologise to viewers for the outburst but Rooney remained unrepentant. The England striker said: "I'm a young player and I've just scored in the Premiership. I was excited about scoring and that's all there is to it."’
