FORGET THEM PHIL

Phil Neville has spoken of his desire to impress the Ing-er-
lund brigade:

"To be fair ever since I played for England there have
probably been a few boos when, not just my name, but those
of the other Manchester United players were read out.

"Fans were also aggrieved with what happened against Romania
in Euro 2000 and they voiced their opinions about that. It
was my mistake which was highlighted.

"It was up to me to put in the performances to try and win
the fans over again but since that game I've not really had
a consistent run of games. I've been in squads but played in
the second half of games when the boss has changed things
around. Now it would be nice to get a run in the side, to
put in some quality performances, and win the fans over
again.

"It is important. People say it is not important - but it is
important. If you are playing at home and the fans are on
your side, it makes a hell of a difference. What was
important for me was when I left the field at Leicester in
the week, there was applause."
