FORLAN – I MUST GET BETTER

Diego:

“I knew I had to improve and I did that by learning from the
other strikers here. With players like Ruud van Nistelrooy,
Ole Solskjaer and Paul Scholes, you can learn a lot.

“Everyone is saying good things about me and it is exciting
to think ahead to Sunday. But I have to continue to work
really hard and make sure that I don't let things slip. I
don't know how much better I need to be to play regularly
but I know I have to improve.

"It is so difficult here because there are so many great
players. You have to train hard and when you have the
opportunity you have to make sure you do well. I was not
playing for a while and suddenly I have had four games and I
have had to take my chance and make the most of my
opportunity.

"Two weeks ago, I wondered when my next game was going to
come - now I have scored four goals in four games. That's
fantastic for me. Even at the end of last season when I
could not get into the side, I had no thoughts about giving
up on Manchester United.

"I just kept making sure I trained hard so, if the chances
came, I was ready. It was the same this season. I have
learned a lot of that from Ole Solskjaer. Even when I was
back in Uruguay, I would notice how Ole would have to sit
out games but, when his chance came, he would take it.

"That is what I have to do. And the more games I play in a
row, the better I feel and the more comfortable I am on the
pitch. The return with four goals has been fantastic."

Meanwhile the London Evening Standard reports that we are
ready to spend up to £20m on a striker during the transfer
window.
