Former United target and Manchester City player Marc-Vivien Foe has died whilst playing. Foe who was playing for Cameroon against Colombia in the Confederations Cup collapsed unchallenged in the 72nd minute.

Manchester City chairman John Wardle expressed the club's distress at the sad news.

"Foe was wonderful to have around the club," Wardle told BBC Five Live.

"He always had a smile on his face and was humble as well.

"He also scored the last-ever goal at Maine Road and he will go down in history for that."

While former boss Harry Redknapp said:

"You couldn't meet a nicer, more fantastic person than Marc Foe. He was a special boy - I just can't believe it.

"Alex tried to sign him for Manchester United before I took him but unfortunately he broke his leg the day before he was due to sign.

"Alex kept in touch with him. I know he'll be devastated. He spoke to him a lot in the last four or five years."
