French starlet Jeremy Menez led to speculation that United
may try to sign him. However it has since emerged that he
has signed a three-year contract with French club Sochaux-
Montbeliard.
A statement on their official website read: "A professional
contract of three years was proposed to him which would make
him the youngest professional footballer in France.
"The player and his parents have given their agreement for
this very advantageous deal for a boy of this age.
"Despite the insistence in the market of certain
intermediaries, FC Sochaux-Montbeliard are in no
circumstances prepared to negotiate the transfer of a young
player."
