SAF expects another toughie this week:

"They play good football," said Ferguson. "They'll be hard opponents but we beat them in both of the games that mattered last season, the quarter finals, and hopefully we can do the same again. We've had them watched quite a bit this season and they're a very good football team."

A win would send United into the Champions League winter break as group leaders.

"Winning our first game away from home was terrific, at a venue where everyone else has failed."

"We lost a goal in 31 seconds in Basel and, but for about five minutes after that, we gathered ourselves and got control of the game. We didn't panic, we took our time and once we got our first goal, we grew in the game. I think last year we did really well in Europe. We didn't do badly even in the two defeats against Deportivo. We were one up with a few minutes to go in La Coruna then lost it, and at home we played really well attacking-wise but Deportivo were terrific."

"We could get a game like that on Wednesday night because I think they'll come and have a go at us. Their best form in Europe this season has been away from home. They beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in Germany and AC Milan 2-1 after losing to them 4-0 in Spain."

Deportivo were held 1-1 away to bottom-of-the-table Recreativo Huelva this weekend.
