“I've four years left of a six-year contract, but the way I
look at it is you are repaying the club every day. That is
Gary Neville's way, continued repayment for the contract I
have been lucky enough to be given. I am more determined
than ever this season.
"I'm confident I can start pre-season with the team. I'm
back sprinting, turning, twisting and kicking the ball and
touch wood everything is going to plan. It will be a big pre-
season for me because I've missed two of the last three and
you always feel you are playing catch-up with the lads
always a bit ahead of you. I don't intend that to happen
this season."
He also wants to make more progress in the European Cup:
"We went out after two fantastic games against a fantastic
team. There are some massive teams in there Real Madrid,
both Milans, Juventus, Barcelona, Valencia and Bayern
Munich.
"Like United, they have great traditions, but we have to
take that extra yard. I would love it to be our season in
Europe again and remember some of us aren't getting any
younger. It was annoying to go out at the quarter final
stage, very annoying."
