From the Sun:

‘The Brazilian superstar has an amazing clause in his contract which allows the Spanish giants to offload him whether he agrees or not.

Barca have a list of 25 clubs across the globe who have the right to buy without Rivaldo's consent. They include Premiership big guns Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal but NOT Newcastle, who SunSport yesterday revealed have slapped in a £10m bid. But Rivaldo does have the guarantee of a £6m tax free pay-off if Barca sell him against his will.

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd and deputy Douglas Hall are holidaying in Spain and are likely to discuss a possible deal with Barca president Joan Gaspart. But Toon boss Bobby Robson will have to up his offer. That is because Rivaldo will get 20 per cent of any fee and Barcelona are sure to hold out for more. Louis Van Gaal is starting his second stint as Barca manager and is desperate to rebuild.

He wants to cash in on Rivaldo, 30, before the Brazilian becomes a free agent next year. Barca are due to play a friendly in Newcastle on August 7.'
