GIGGS – I WANT TO STAY

He’s said it often enough, but Ryan Giggs has repeated his
desire to stay at Old Trafford. Speaking on the UEFA website
he said:

"I know there have been rumours about Inter but I have got
three years left on my contract and I don't want to leave
Old Trafford," he added. "I've been at United all my career
and I love the club, the city and the fans. My whole life is
here, so why would I want to go anywhere else?

"I felt I started the season in good form but I know I fell
below my usual standards in the middle part of the year. I
got a lot of stick after the Arsenal game and then suddenly
I was the flavour of the month again after we beat Juve. It
went from one extreme to the other in an incredibly short
space of time.

"There were a couple of games I played poorly in and a few
of the fans got on my back. I've always said the fans pay
their money and have every right to make their feelings
known but of course it did hurt. I've been in much better
form since then, perhaps partly because of the reaction I
got, and I'd like to think I've given the supporters more
reason to cheer than jeer.

"The future is very exciting, even for an old man like me!
It is an honour and thrill to be playing for a club like
United.”
