GIGGS RELISHING ARSENAL CHALLENGE

"It's always nice going into a big one with your confidence high, scoring goals and having kept a clean sheet. That's what we have done and now hopefully we can reproduce the same sort of football we did against Panathinaikos. The last two or three games with Arsenal have been quite feisty and that is to be expected again on Sunday. There is plenty of skill on offer in both teams but obviously there are a lot of lads who can put their foot in as well.

"You are always going to get that with the rivalry we have with Arsenal. Hopefully it won't spill over and the skill aspect will come out on top.

"There is a challenge for them this season. They will want to make a point that they can carry on and win the championship. They haven't managed to bring in any new faces to freshen up the squad because the finances are not what they have been because of the new stadium. But they still have plenty of quality and they can score goals from so many areas, similar to ourselves.

"We went up a gear against Panathinaikos, who may not have been the best team but the football we produced was somewhere where we need to get to. Big games bring out the best in you. That's when big players come out and do their stuff.

"Arsenal will obviously want to make a point at Old Trafford. They will want to prove they're good enough to win it, after everything that happened last season.

"I still see Arsenal as our main challengers. With Chelsea, you don't know what you're going to get. They have bought so many good players, but they'll need time to gel. Whereas Arsenal and ourselves have the nucleus of teams that have been together for about three or four years at least."
