GIGGS RUMINATES

"It's been a disappointing season but it's good to end with a great performance and a Cup final, the single most watched game in the world."

"We've played some good stuff this season and that makes you wonder what might have been. We've shown some positive signs and I've got more hope for the future. I'm not worried about the gap between us and Arsenal. I think we are as good as them. In fact I think we're better. But consistency has been the difference and from that point of view, Arsenal have been the better team.

"They showed against Leicester just that; they were behind and they still won. That's what we used to do, and so it hurts to see them with the trophy, but the bottom line is they deserved it, without a shadow of a doubt. Now it's up to us to produce their kind of consistency. We have the ability; consistency has always been our strong point, but, whatever reason, we haven't shown it. A lot was said about our tradition of being stronger after Christmas but it didn't happen. We know we've got a lot of work to do but we know we can do it."
