GIGGS SAYS IT CAN HAPPEN

"It could prove to be the biggest game in my United career. I know how desperately important it is to the players and the fans that we get the result that is required on the night.

"I have always said how important it is to win the league, but you can only achieve so much by doing it.

"If you want to achieve greatness you must win the Champions League and, more importantly, sustain that success.

"You can be judged as a player and a team by the wealth of talent in the Premiership but it's difficult to make comparisons to the enormous talent and challenge you face in Europe.

"Even countries can't draw on collective talent that clubs like Real Madrid have assembled - and if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.

"The supporters are like a 12th man, they can be the difference between success and failure. When you have more than 60,000 fans behind you it can be very intimidating for the opposition."
