"He has impressed everyone in training and in the two games on this tour.

"As a striker you want to score goals and it is good he has got off the mark early. That always helps any goalscorer.

"What has impressed me is his overall game. You can play it up to him and he can hold the ball up well.

"He has a good touch, is good in the air and strong.

"It looks like he wants to play for Manchester United which is one of the reasons the gaffer signed him.

"Louis Saha plays a bit similar to him in the way he holds the ball up. The manager has a headache now with the quality players he has assembled up front.

"That is what we need. It brings the best out of any player in any department knowing if you don't perform there is a player who can come in and take your place.

"Aggression is naturally in Alan's game and I think the fans like that. He is not over-aggressive but he does add power.

"I think maybe we have lacked a little aggression up front but Alan likes that physical aspect of the game."
