Giggs picked up the injury in the second half of the game after a clash with Villa’s Steve Sidwell, he was then taken off with his arm in a sling.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the veteran had been taken to hospital.
"We have sent Ryan for an X-ray to see if there is any damage.
"It is very painful but hopefully he is going to be all right."
