GILL – THERE IS MONEY TO SPEND

David Gill, speaking on MUTV, said:

"I think we have demonstrated over the last 10 years when we
have had a net £100m on player outlays, which is a
significant sum and this has come from our own cash
resources,

"We have not borrowed a penny to do that. I think that with
respect to what happens next season there is nothing to say.

"How it works we sit down with the board, with Sir Alex with
his coaching staff and assess the areas where he wishes to
revise the team, strengthen the team. We look at it and have
a full and frank discussion and agree the way forward.

"That is not only for next season, obviously Sir Alex,
Carlos [Queiroz] and the team are looking two, three, four
years forward as we are as a board, assessing what is coming
through the youth system and looking at the whole thing.

"You can't do anything in the transfer market right now and
we have a very exciting run-in and we don't want to be
deflected.

"The transfer market is closed and so we will concentrate on
winning those two trophies then sit down at the end of the
season and assess where we are."
