GILL AND GLAZER

United chief executive David Gill watched United's first match of the pre season
tour to the States with Malcolm Glazer's sons Joel and Brian. He also tried to
play down any fear of a take over.

"We've had a very good dialogue with Malcolm Glazer since meeting for the first time last autumn,"

"We don't see them as a threat at all and now, if they're going to buy some
shares, they will ring me out of courtesy. Malcolm and his sons clearly
understand sport. They have studied the soccer business and understand the
economics and how it is regulated.

"It's important for us to have regular contact but ultimately we don't know what
their intentions are. However, it's clear from our conversations that they are
supportive of the management of the club and what we are trying to achieve."
