GILL IS 'REPULSED'

Chief Exec on MUTV:

"What happened on Wednesday night was very disappointing.

"I know emotions run high but quotes from various people calling the Glazers repulsive are not right.

"Those kind of comments by supposed fans repulse me and it makes me wonder what they think they are achieving.

"Manchester United has a rich heritage and a rich history and it has always been a fair club.

"But that very, very small minority of fans are doing both themselves and the great name of this club a disservice.

"We understand passion - that is why football is such an emotive game - but you have to move forward and understand that things have changed.

"People have questioned my integrity of staying on and I cannot deny that I was part of the board that viewed some of the plans as being too aggressive.

"But the situation has been resolved and we need to work with the Glazers and explain to them why we had concerns and ensure we have a very profitable future.

"All along we have reinvested the profits we have made back into the club, whether it be on player transfers, contracts or expanding the stadium and the Glazers understand that.

"As long as we continue that successful strategy of what happens on the pitch determines what happens off it, I think we have a bright future."
