GIVE THE FANS A TRIP

Ahead of tonight's second leg David Beckham wants to qualify to give us all a day out in Cardiff.

"It's good for the fans if they get a trip out of it - whether it's an FA Cup final or a League Cup final, it's a day out," Becks told MUTV.

Is the old form coming back?

"We want to get back to the stage where we are playing well week in week out. Even in the bad stage we had to carry on playing to get us through it, which we have done, but most of all it's important to keep this run going."

"Scholesy's got five in five - if you give him a chance he'll take it. That's the sort of player he is. It's important that it's not just the forwards getting on the scoresheet."

Fergie thinks the Wothington Cup has been reborn this season.

"There is no doubt the standing of the competition has been helped by ourselves and Liverpool getting to the semi-finals," said Ferguson

"The second-round bye handed to the teams who are in Europe is fair and has helped a lot because it gives you the incentive of going further.

"Also, we had a home draw to start and then a local derby at Burnley, which drew us in, then a home quarter-final against Chelsea which we didn't want to lose.

"Now we all want to get to Cardiff. We have a good record in semi-finals and hopefully that will continue."
