'Malcolm Glazer’s formal bid for Manchester United is expected any day now and we must leave the board in no doubt about the strength of feeling against his proposed takeover.
The Not For Sale coalition – representing IMUSA, Shareholders United and the fanzines – is asking all supporters to repeat the successful demonstration held outside Old Trafford last month.
We don’t know for sure exactly which day Glazer will submit his formal bid – but the minute he does, we want supporters there in huge numbers to urge the board to stand firm and not recommend his bid.
The plan will be similar to last month’s demonstration. The day the bid goes in, arrive for 5pm, or as soon as you can afterwards, at the car park opposite Sir Matt’s statue.
Sound your car horns, bring banners and flags, sing your heart out for our club, and bring along anyone you know who cares – this could be our last chance to put a stop to Glazer once and for all.
The board CAN decide not to recommend this to the shareholders if they think it is not in the company's best interests.
We must show them how strongly we feel about this – please be there.
As soon as we hear anything about the bid going in, the news will go round on supporter websites, emailing lists and SU’s text service. Please keep an eye out for news and be ready to turn up and do your bit.
