Malcolm Glazer could move a step closer to ending Sir Alex Ferguson's Old Trafford reign this week.

Manchester United's new owners have set up a series of meetings with agents from around Europe...with Ferguson's future at the top of the agenda.

As exclusively revealed in The SP last week, Dutchman Guus Hiddink is top of the Old Trafford hit-list should Ferguson slump out of the Champions League at Benfica on Wednesday night.

And with the likes of Fabio Capello and Martin O'Neill also being mentioned at the highest level within United, the Glazers want to get a clear picture of their next move before Christmas.

The meetings are likely to take place in New York with the first thought to be scheduled for the end of next week, just days after United's crucial showdown in Lisbon.
