TAKEOVER RUMOURS GROW
David Hellier reports in the Sunday Express business that plc representatives have 'had talks with The Lansdowne Group, who as we reported last week have recently increased their stake United. Apparently Lansdowne have assured Kenyon and co. that they themselves are not planning a bd but ''speculation'' is that LG may be prepared to back Irish offers.
LOPEZ RUMOURS RECEDE
Several hacks reckon that the Lopez hunt is definitely over now that Lazio have paid his wages. Our own sources are not so sure telling us that if Lazio's financial problems persist and Ferguson's hunt for an extra striker draws a blank then the matter may resurface in the summer.
