Happy 40th Birthday Mr Ryan Giggs

Tomorrow sees the Welsh wizard hit the ripe old age of 40 and he still continues to ply his trade at the top of his profession.

Here?s a fact that may be able to clarify his success: He is the ONLY player to feature in EVERY edition of the Topps Premier Sticker Album. If you didn?t get involved in this football cult at a young age, well, you had a deprived childhood?

Giggsy has achieved everything in the game at club level since he made his debut for Manchester United as a substitute for Dennis Irwin, way back in March 1991 against Everton in a match that they lost 2-0 courtesy of goals from Mike Newell and Dave Watson (remember them??)

The Welshman is the only player to have played and scored in 21 successive Premier League seasons and this is unlikely to ever be surpassed.

To list out all his successes would take an age but his main ones include-13 Premier League trophies; 4 FA Cups;4 Football League Cups;2 Champions League trophies; and 1 Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup and World Club Cup. On top of this, Giggsy has picked up a few individual awards-PFA Young Player of the Year twice; PFA Players Player of the Year and BBC Sports Personality of the Year back in 2009.

The only downside to Giggsy?s career is probably the fact that he is Welsh. As harsh as that may sound, it is fair to say that he would have been a great addition to past World Cup tournaments, where he could have tested his ability at the very highest level against the world?s best.

Giggsy will still go down in history as one of the greatest ever Premier League players, but he is not done yet, so long may he continue; which will probably be until the end of this season!
