Manchester United won't back off in their pursuit of Owen Hargreaves - and that could lead to amajor bust-up with Bayern Munich this week.
Sir Alex Ferguson has made it clear he wants Hargreaves to join United before the August 31 deadline and the England star has told Bayern he wants to move to Old Trafford.
Hargreaves, who has four years left on his contract, said last night: "I can understand Bayern's position, especially having lost Michael Ballack to Chelsea this summer.
"They have said in the past that they don't want me to leave but this time we will wait and see.
"It would be a fantastic move for me to go to United. I'm just hoping an agreement can be reached."
