Vidic:
"They are all great players with a lot of skills who I'm sure will do very well for the team. There is greater competition for places which can only help everyone improve. We all want to play and pre-season is a good opportunity to show the manager that he should pick you for the starting eleven.
"My aim every season is always to improve. It's important that I show people I am a consistent player - that's why I must keep improving. I want to play better and help the team win trophies. I don't think about just me, I think about everyone. It is not just about playing well for yourself, you need to play as a team. We did that last year and we need to do that again."
