Leicester City have suspended Dennis Wise pending the outcome of a club investigation into a brawl which left his team-mate Callum Davidson with a double fracture of the cheekbone.

The club immediately sent the 35-year-old former England midfielder home after the incident, which took place at the team's hotel during a tour to Finland. The Scotland defender, who may take legal action, is likely to miss the start of the season. "The injury will be assessed again on Monday," said the manager Micky Adams.

Leicester, who fly home tomorrow, expect the investigation to be completed once Adams has met the chairman Martin George on Wednesday.
