The Scottish Football Association said on Monday it would investigate third division Albion Rovers boss Peter Hetherston after the Sun newspaper quoted him making sexist comments about assistant Morag Pirie, following his side's 1-0 defeat at Montrose on Saturday.

"I knew it wasn't going to be our day when I found out we had a woman running the line. She should be at home making the dinner for her man," The Sun quoted Hetherston as saying. "This is a professional man's game. She shouldn't be here."
