United's number two isn't surprised at Scholes' quick return to first team action. Scholesy could have been out for as long as six months but he lined up yesterday after just three weeks.

Carlos Queiroz said:

'The problem wasn't quite as bad as we first feared,'

Although the injury wasn't bad Carlos still praises United's medical staff,

'we have fantastic medical staff at the club and Paul has worked really hard throughout the recovery process.

'We have been able to watch him in training every day,'
