"That is journalists' bullshit," Heinze told L'Equipe. "When I came here the coach never talked about that (Athens). I will give everything to Manchester with pleasure. I am coming to a great club, the world's greatest, and I am here to work hard."

Heinze is in the squad for tonight's game against Lyon and believes that United will only get better.

"Our results will improve we have a fantastic team. We are playing in the Champions League to win it, and I am delighted to start in France."

Heinze had some harsh words for his ex-coach at PSG, Vahid Halilhodzic:

"I can see there are still problems, time will prove who's right. The most important things are the club, the changing-room, the fans. I gave everything for PSG and I got back a lot too. But I didn't appreciate working with that man, so that's why I wanted to leave. Everyone will eventually know who Gabriel Heinze is and who the coach is, and why so many players left and who hurt Paris Saint Germain."
