HIS HYPOCRISY KNOWS NO BOUNDS

Having slammed United fans as "a bunch of miserable, hypocritical, whingeing b*stards" in the Guardian on Monday, principally for our reaction to the Glazers' takeover (see http://www.redissue.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=233437 ) whilst simultaneously propagating lies about Red Issue (see http://www.redissue.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=233435 ) we uncover this little gem via Red News:

Tony Wilson's pro-Glazer comments were in stark contrast to what he told Red News in March of this year. Here's what he had to say:

RN: Do you regret supporting the Murdoch bid and what do you think of Glazer?

AW: I don't regret supporting Murdoch. I think Sky's' been good for football and he would have been good for us. The whole family club thing is a myth anyway; we were never a family club, not even in the 50s. City are much more of a family club than us, we could never dream of something like the Junior Blues, which does a lot of good in the community.

Glazer, however, I'm totally against, I think he's a twat. He doesn't have the same kind of money as Murdoch and is basically a businessman who's seen the opportunity to make a quick buck. You look at United, what's the average price of a season ticket, about 450 quid, cheaper than anyone in London. Yet there's a huge waiting list, so Glazer sees that and obviously would put up prices and if the fans don't like it, he'll replace them with new ones.

Clearly, Wilson is a lying c*nt who says whatever it is that his audience of the time wants to hear.
