It had been rumoured that The German Football Association (DFB) were looking to coke-head Christoph Daum but DFB President Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder said in a statement:
'I have been in contact with Ottmar Hitzfeld for days. There has not been any kind of direct or indirect contact with other coaches, including Christoph Daum.'
