Bayern Munich star Owen Hargreaves has been linked with Manchester United according to the German media.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Franz Beckenbauer have said publicly they do need to sell after the Germans dropped out of the champions league in the first round.
The Red Devils will have to pay 7 million for Hargreaves when the transfer window reopens in January.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is again being linked with summer target Kevin Hoflund.

The PSV Eindhoven centre-half was chased by both United and Arsenal over the close-season before his Dutch club priced him out of a Premiership move.

However, with PSV now eliminated from the Champions League, both clubs are expected to return for Hoflund as the January transfer market draws near.
The Holland international is rated at around £8 million.

Manchester United have made a fresh approach for AS Roma fullback Cafu, according to Italian press reports.

It's understood United's offer is far bigger than their closet rival for the Brazilian World Cup skipper, Valencia.

Cafu has made up his mind that he wants to quit Roma at the end of this season after spending so much time out of Fabio Capello's first team.

United's offer is for a two-year contract worth almost £2 million-a-season - a good £350,000-a-year more than Valencia's proposal.

Manchester United youngster Jimmy Davis has returned from his loan spell at Swindon Town with the aim of establishing himself in Sir Alex Ferguson's first team.

"Playing in Swindon's first-team has been great experience and my goal now is to break into the United team.

"It will be difficult because they have so many world-class players but they have been struggling for goals just recently so if I get a chance to play I will grab it with both hands.

"I played a lot with Kieran Richardson and he has just broken into the first-team which gives me hope."
