"I am enjoying the job so much at the moment that I haven't got a date for retirement.

"Next time I'll announce my retirement and just go.

"Everyone is entitled to one mistake. I won't make that mistake again. My mind is made up on that. I'll maybe wake up one morning at the end of a season and say that's it.

"I've got the perfect situation as far as my contract is concerned. I decide when to retire and when not to, or the club can say 'we have had a great time, blah blah blah'."

On possibly leaving a great team: "That's sod's law, it can happen in any circumstances.

"Your best team may be the one you don't see - or at least not as the manager. When you get to your sixties you are not guaranteed your health. At this moment I am in control but tomorrow, maybe not."
