Fergie:
"That's all we need to do with Ruud is get the ball in the box.
"He's a predator and he's always moving in the box.
"Ronaldo was marvellous and did very well throughout the game. He showed a lot of courage because there were a few tackles on him but he just got up and got the ball again. We still have to make sure we rest him at the right time, but today he showed great ability. He attacks people so well because he's so positive and his decision making is very good.
"Roy got a knock on his ankle in the first half but managed to carry on for a while. But he got a block on it after half-time and that was the end. We'll have to see how he is for Tuesday.
"Charlton are very energetic. When they went down to 10 men, their players were chasing everywhere so it was a good result for us."
Curbishley:

"The first goal and the sending-off changed the game - and Euelly was involved in both of them.
"hey scored the first goal because Euell was standing on the line.
"He didn't come out when the ball was cleared from the first shot - or the second shot. And, if he'd got out, they'd have been offside.
"The ref booked Euell in the first minute and he knew he was on a booking so couldn't go into that second challenge.
"There was only one result once Neville cleared the ball - and that was the end of the game for us.''
