Inter and Man Utd Agree Fee for Ashley Young Deal With Medical Imminent

Inter and Manchester United are understood to have agreed a fee for the transfer of Ashley Young, with the player set to have a medical in Italy in the next few days.

Young has been linked with an Old Trafford departure for some time with the England international's contract set to expire at the end of the season. The defender has fallen behind Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams in the pecking order at left-back, starting just one of United's last six Premier League games.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter have agreed a 1.5m fee for Young's services with a medical imminent. Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio had travelled to England to wrap up deals for no less than three Premier League players - with the United skipper understood to be one of them.

Young's move to Inter had looked in doubt when the Serie A club were reported to be closing in on a deal for Roma full-back Leonardo Spinazzola that would see Matteo Politano go in the other direction. That deal looks set to be confirmed in the coming days, though it does not to seem to have had any effect on the club's interest in 34-year-old Young.

The former Watford man is likely to joined at Inter by Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen. The Dane will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, though I Nerazzurri are poised to sign him in January, with his agent currently hammering out the 'bureaucratic details'.

Christian Eriksen

The 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Inter, though Tottenham are yet to be satisfied by Eriksen's transfer fee. There is a possibility of Matias Vecino being included in the deal as makeweight, despite the Uruguayan being a regular fixture in the first team under Antonio Conte recently.

Inter also remained interested in Olivier Giroud with the Chelsea striker said to be 'on the verge' of completing his Stamford Bridge exit.
