Is Harry Maguire playing today? Latest Manchester United injury news

Manchester United host West Ham knowing a top-four spot will be well within reach should they claim all three points.

However, their task will be made more difficult by the fact that key defender Raphael Varane won't be able to play.

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the Frenchman will now be unavailable for the rest of the year after picking up an injury against Chelsea last weekend.

"He will be out, certainly until the World Cup so he will not play in this block for Manchester United," said the manager.

"I think [he can play at the World Cup] but the prognosis we have to wait. We have to see how it develops, how the rehab will develop."

Victor Lindelof started alongside Lisandro Martinez in midweek against Sheriff Tiraspol in his place, with Harry Maguire coming on for the latter at the start of the second as he continues his recovery after suffering an injury during the international break.

Ahead of the match against West Ham, Ten Hag said the club captain is ready to return to the starting XI, but has to earn his place in the team.

"We have five games to go, in a short period, so we need everyone, that's obvious," he told his club. "But I'm really happy Harry is back from his injury, now he has to fight [to get back] in the team.

"I was really happy to give him the minutes [on Thursday] and he did well so he will compete for those positions in the team...I'm happy he's available, he's ready and prepared to get in the team."

Further forward, Anthony Martial will definitely miss out on the match with Ten Hag saying the aim is for the striker to be available again in around two weeks.

On the bright side, Donny van de Beek is fit again after returning in the Europa League match with Sheriff as Maguire did.
