Not used to having to pass the ball,as opposed to just humping it up the pitch ala Liverpool,Hamman explains his gaffe.

"I was looking for a player to pass the ball to but couldn't find one. It is obvious you cannot afford to lose the ball in that area,this World Cup was very important for German football. We showed it is still alive. We have done so much better than everyone thought was possible everyone can be proud of themselves. It is always disappointing to lose in a final when you have had chances to win but you have to say in the end that Brazil deserved to win,"
