Nistelrooy’s progress at United, and is impressed with what
he has seen:
“When you score more than 100 goals for Manchester United in not
much more than two years, it is incredible. It’s an amazing
record in only his third season there and exactly what you
need in a title chase.
“Having played with Ruud for Holland, I don’t need to say how good
he is. Everybody knows. His scoring record is unbelievable.
He has proven his talent in Holland and now in England.
“I don’t think he needs to prove anything at Euro 2004 to be called
a great. He has already shown he is just that by his
performances at United. He’s one of the best strikers I’ve
played with. Maybe he can get even better.”
