Jadon Sancho: The Latest on Man Utd Interest, PSG Rumours & Dortmund's Stance on Selling

Another day, another update on the future of Jadon Sancho.

He's all set to be the transfer story of the summer, or one of them at least.

The latest on the England and Borussia Dortmund star's future covers what the British press are saying, some noises out of Spain regarding interest from PSG, and how Dortmund view the situation. Dive on in.

Monday's Latest

Jadon Sancho

A fresh report from the Telegraph on Monday makes clear that Manchester United have 'made the early running' for Sancho, and that they're the ones leading the race to sign him ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, who each hold interest in the England international.

Mike McGrath states that Sancho, if he moves to United, will become the club's record signing, for a fee that shatters what the 20-time league champions paid for Paul Pogba (£89m) in 2016. He'll likely cost more than £100m.

And the story even goes on to suggest that the 19-year-old would have no problem agreeing to personal terms with United, terms likely worth in excess of £200,000-a-week, after Dortmund failed to announce that a previously reported contract extension was agreed with the player at the start of the season.

Sancho fits the profile of the young, British players that United are looking to sign as they continue their revamp of their first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The report makes it clear that he'd fit the bill for a problem position on the right wing.

What's New?

This video.

Apart from that, not much really. You'd have known all of the above if you'd have read any updates from our end since last September.

90min reported as far back as then that United were working on making the move happen, with the player privately open to the prospect of joining them.

Last month, we followed up with detail on how United had started the charm offensive, making the player feel wanted and selling the new project - which he would be a leader of alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford - and that they were willing to go to £120m to seal Sancho's signature. They're adamant they won't be beaten on price.

United's stance will make it difficult for the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, as questions remain over whether each would make as big a financial commitment as United are planning on. It's why United remain in pole position.

PSG Interested in Sancho?

Paris Saint-Germain v Dijon FCO - Ligue 1

A small section in Catalan daily Sport (per Sport Witness, who are good at telling us what's out there) suggests that Paris Saint-Germain used their recent meeting with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League - a game which they lost 2-1 - to check up on Sancho's availability.

It's suggested Dortmund told PSG that Sancho wasn't going anywhere for any less than €140m (around about £122m) and that the French champions could move for Sancho if they end up selling Neymar - who has been linked with a move back to Barcelona since the beginning of time.

Sean Walsh wrote a piece on why Neymar to Barcelona is a really bad idea earlier on Monday.

So, What Are Dortmund & Sancho Saying?

Hans-Joachim Watzke

As far as they're concerned, they don't need to sell Jadon Sancho this summer - and that's straight out of the mouth of club chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.

On Sancho, he told BBC Sport: "I think he has the feeling that the club does have a good future. In my opinion, I don't think he wants to leave.

"We have a very confidential relationship between us and him and his agents. We will discuss it.

"It's not a question of money. For us, it would be the best position if he stays at Borussia Dortmund. We have enough money. We want to have titles. I think this team has a lot more potential with Jadon than without Jadon."
