James Maddison Insists He Will Stay at Leicester City Despite Interest From Manchester United

James Maddison has said that he will stay at Leicester, despite receiving strong interest from Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League since he arrived at the King Power Stadium from Norwich City, where he's gone on to make 73 appearances across all competitions.

The England international had been tipped for a big-money move at the end of the season, but Maddison has insisted he will stay at Leicester City beyond the summer and says he feels like he's 'part of the furniture' in the east Midlands.

"Of course I am," Maddison said on BT Sport (via the Evening Standard) after being asked if he would still be at Leicester next season. "[It's] one of the best decisions I made coming here. I love it."

Maddison has already spoken out over his long-term future at Leicester City and 90min have learned the club are confident of extending the midfielder's contract, which is currently due to expire in 2023.

But even if Maddison does sign a new deal at the club, he will remain one of the most talked-about players in the English press until he eventually moves elsewhere.

"I feel right at home at Leicester. I feel like part of the furniture already and I love it here," he said. "I love the lads, I love the fans, (we’ve got) a great manager, so I’m very, very happy.

"It's been brilliant. It’s gone better than I could ever have imagined to be honest. If I think back four years ago, I was on loan at Aberdeen from Norwich and now I’m playing every week in the Premier League and that’s all I always wanted to do.

"Sometimes stuff like this can make you really reflect and be proud of myself that I’ve got to this level and obviously look forward now."
